2:00pm – Living Traditions Folk Ensemble
Living Traditions Folk Ensemble preserves music, song, dance, and tradition of Carpatho-Rusyn, Croatian, and Polish ancestors. Created in 2002, the Brecksville-based group has performed shows throughout Ohio, PA, NY, and at Memphis in May International Festival in Tennessee and Walt Disney World in Florida. LTFE has offered folk dance workshops, produced cultural education programs, and curated folk costumes exhibitions. LTFE’s show of Carpatho-Rusyn collections from Transcarpathia is dedicated in memory of Barbara Popovich, President of both the Cleveland Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society and Friends of the Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural Garden of Cleveland.

2:45pm – “Armenian Bridal Dance”
In the Armenian culture, it is customary for the bride to perform a solo dance on her wedding day. Margarita Markosyan will showcase that ancient and beautiful tradition by performing her wedding dance. As an Armenian dancer for 13 years, Margarita’s journey has been a vibrant blend of tradition, passion, and artistry. From her first steps, she has immersed herself in the rich heritage of Armenian dance, mastering the intricate footwork and expressive movements that tell the stories of her ancestors. Each performance is a celebration of this heritage, merging ancient rhythms with a contemporary touch, which bring the spirit of Armenia to life in a most captivating way.

3:00pm – Sedma Brzina
Sedma Brzina – an ethnic sensation consisting of an all-elite group of 1st and 2nd generation Croatians; performing a variety of of folk, pop and rock hits from the little known former Yugoslav republic of Croatia. They continue to be a staple of the Croatian American community in Cleveland’s suburbs – catering to weddings, private parties, and christenings with selections of Croatian music tailored to the event.

4:00pm – Movements in Motion (Indian) presents “Nalanda”
The Lotus Flower Givers” inspired by the profound teachings of Lord Buddha. Choreographed by renowned dancer Sanjib Bhattacharya, this endeavor seeks to explore the depth of Buddha’s wisdom through dance and expression. Through contemporary dance movements inspired by Indian Classical Dance and Martial arts, dancers from five countries (India, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and the United States) get together to portray the Four Noble Truths of life, and the Eightfold Path towards peace and enlightenment.

4:35pm – Abrepaso Flamenco
(Spanish) – Abrepaso Flamenco is Northeast Ohio’s premiere flamenco arts and culture nonprofit organization led by Alice Blumenfeld. They aim to present new pathways within, and new entry points into flamenco through education and performances. For OWD, their community performance group will present traditional flamenco works along with a community rumba flash mob. Flamenco comes from Andalusia and is now practiced all over the world, including in Cleveland!

5:00pm – THE UNITED STATES FLEET FORCES BAND. The U.S. Fleet Forces Band’s Brass Quintet has been providing entertainment and inspiration to the men and women of the U.S. Fleet Forces for years. The quintet is comprised of two trumpets, French horn, trombone and tuba. The Brass Quintet performs a broad repertoire of music including transcriptions of Classical and Baroque era works, traditional martial music, Jazz, Dixieland and even Broadway show tunes. The small size, range of music and versatility of brass instruments allows the quintet to perform at a wide variety of occasions and venues throughout the Hampton Roads area. The ensemble frequently performs for public concerts and military ceremonies. The Brass Quintet also performs children’s educational concerts and clinics for high school and college music students. A uniquely versatile ensemble, the quintet is sure to add flair to any occasion.
