Michael Stanley – Centennial One World Day Headliner

It’s a match made in… Cleveland!  When the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation wanted to have an extra special headliner to celebrate the Centennial Year of the Gardens at One World Day there was one name that jumped out – Michael Stanley.

Though he has had regional and national success, Cleveland native Michael Stanley will always be associated with his hometown, and not just when performing his Top 40 hit “My Town”.

Attendees of the 71st annual One World Day in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens will be able to see Michael Stanley and Friends perform live and for free on the main stage Sunday evening.

From the start of One World Day at 11 AM there will be dozens of ethnic and cultural performers on the main stage and also throughout the individual gardens.  But at 6 PM the attention will be drawn to the main stage where Michael Stanley and Friends will perform in an historic concert in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.

The concert is scheduled for 6 PM Sunday August 28 but you will want to come early and spend the day at One World Day in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.  Admission and parking are free.

Please Note: No videos or photos are permitted of this performance.

Michael Stanley’s honest Midwestern rock & roll is custom made for Cleveland  and will be a perfect fit for Cleveland’s unique treasure, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.   As Michael says,  “Let’s get the show on the road.”

Getting ready for One World Day in the Vietnamese Garden

Vietnamese Garden getting ready for One World Day

The Vietnamese Cultural Garden team met to clean up the Garden site for One World Day on August 28.  They proudly raised the Yellow and Red striped Flag of Viet Nam and prepare the Cleveland ground for a Beautiful Flower garden.

Big plans (and delicious food and drink) are being prepared for One World Day on Sunday August 28, 2016 in the Vietnamese Cultural Garden.  They will also have a colorful delegation in the Parade of Flags.

The Morning began with a Salute to the flag by everyone standing at attention, a Review of the Day’s Importance, and prayers for all who gave their lives in Viet Nam.

See the Doorway of No Return on One World Day

When you visit the Cleveland Cultural Gardens on One World Day on Sunday August 28, 2016 you will be able to see the Phase 1 components of the African American Cultural Garden.

The ribbon-cutting and dedication of Phase 1 of the African American Cultural Garden took place in June. Photos and videos of the ceremony.

A highlight of the Garden that you will be able to see at One World Day is the Doorway of No Return.  Architect Dan Bickerstaff says it represents the journey from Africa to the United States.
